27yo male: Triathlete post-concussion. Why is his tongue cold??

One slip in the rock climbing gym, a bonk on the head, and now 7 weeks later, he can't taste anything and his mouth is dry, dry, dry. Oddly, his tongue is cold. Really cold. This is the second of 4 cases  demonstrating use of rubrics about Taste!
